Under the guidance of Dr. John Smalley, I created the budget for and experimental design of "Fungal Degradation of Plastics and Automated Growth Chambers."
With the help of project mentor, Dr. Grud, and my teammates, we studied the ability of Turkey Tail (T. versicolor) to degrade low density polyethylene. Half of the team, lead by Dr. Grud, experimented with the optimization of mycological growth methods by constructing arduino-automated growth chambers.
