The talk was inspired by Katie's Native Workshops at La Plaza Community Garden in New York City. Katie and I are very passionate about using stories to bring science to life.
After our talk, the audience was split into groups. Each group received a native bee, and were tasked with making a four panel comic to explain a trait that made their bee unique.
Before we let them begin, I demonstrated by drawing a comic about Bombus's buzz pollination on the whiteboard.
One group of educators made a comic to teach us about Eucerini, long horned bees.
